This has been a truly ****** year.

The memoriam video at the Oscars is going to be really long...

So, here's the thing: cultural icons from the 60s, 70s and 80s are reaching the end of the human life expectancy. The problem is not 2016, and more are coming. Be prepared.

If aaaaall these people were dying from old age, that'd be one thing... but so many are still relevant.

But we're talking about people who negatively affected their life spans due to the culture surrounding their careers. Drugs were a HUUUUGE part of the entertainment culture for those three decades, and cancer isn't age-specific. Fisher was notoriously coked up out of her mind during the Star Wars filming; George Micheal was suffering from heroin issues and quite possibly AIDS-influenced problems. 72 is only a life span average; basically anyone who's over 50 could go at any time (me included).

Doesn't matter... the list of known, relevant people that have passed this year is staggering.

Some people live hard lives and manage long ones... death is always unexpected.

David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Abe Vigoda, George Gaynes, Nancy Reagan, Garry Shandling, Patty Duke, Doris Roberts, Prince, George Michael, Mhamed Ali, Anton Yelchin, Gary Marshall, Gene Wilder, Arnold Palmer, Robert Vaughan, Florence Henderson, Ron Glass, John Glenn, Alan Thicke, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Carrie Fisher... not even all.

Some old, some not so old... some sick, some not.

    All surprising.

    ****** year.

Castro died, so... **** that guy.

Yeah. Caught off guard by that one.

Her final word to everyone was "Hope".

Famous or not, there's only a handful of these people I will miss. Rickman could still act and was Han Gruber, the best bad guy ever. Ali, while I was never a big boxing fan, I respect how good he was and what a great S talker he was. Palmer was among the best and lived a good long life. Wilder was also among the best and lived a good long life (I know the end was harder). Fisher was Leia, I love Star Wars so I'll miss her.
I won't pretend to care about George Michael going or Prince or Bowie even though I know they had their fans. Some of the others I don't even know.
