Some of you may not have known Carter before Denzel Washington played him in a movie. I was fortunate enough to hear him speak at my high school. For those who are unaware Rubin Carter was a contending middleweight pro boxer in the 1960s. He was framed for murder by the lazy, corrupt and incompetent police in Patterson, NJ. Carter spent 19 years in jail before he was proven innocent. We can only imagine how awful that must have been.

Carter died in his sleep after a long bout with prostate cancer. He was 76.

A song Bob Dylan wrote to raise awareness of the wrongful conviction:

    F*ck him

He was guilty. The woman who helped get him set free was thanked by him, with a vicious assault that left her unconscious. Pos thug woman beater, deserved everything that came his way.
