It's $6.5 million total over two years. $3.25 million per year.

He's not the highest-paid backup in the league. Hasselbeck's getting more from the Colts. Matt Cassel got more from the Vikings, too.

Fitzpatrick's getting more than you might like a backup QB to get, but it's nothing insane.

I don't know, I've seen teams spend a lotta money over my years, sometimes it works other times it doesnt... And more often than not, its the later one... Lets hope for us that our splash yields good results.

For Bud, back in Air's hay days, that team was competitive because (well for a lot of reasons but one of them was) Bud spent money. We've talked about this here quite a bit as well, the guy isn't scared of spending.

But still that line ("he let us") makes you think a bit...

If Jake Locker isn't the answer the other option being a 37 year old Matt Hasselbeck wouldn't have been any better.

We shall see but we still don't have that dominating presence up the middle. There are good DE prospects deeper in the draft but not so much at the DT position. So I will use your logic for us not taking a G in the first for us not taking a DE in the first. If we don't pick up a CB in FA we have to get that dominating presence at DT. QBs can't be allowed to sit back and pick us apart while they step up in the pocket.

No one seems to grasp this for whatever reason.

I hate to see Matt go, but it was a smart move.

I don't mind your opinion of Locker, but Hasselbeck would not bet the answer. He's washed up and can't throw the ball any more.
