Probably out of necessity. There was Johnson and a whole lot of nothing at safety. PFF seems convinced that he can be a great FS.

would not get drafted by me....

I watched 90% of that 'highlite' clip and I saw him KO exactly zero recievers roaming over the middle.

I want a S that punishes people who dare go deep between the numbers

the 'la Vagician' players are numerous and useless

I suppose this may be the case but even his college film was SS... I'm thinking his ball skills lead folks to believing he is a FS but he's good around the LOS for a reason. Non-traditional SS

Unfortunate as it may be- those hits you speak of are flags and fines now.

It was off topic btw- had nothing to do with obi whatever, I could just visualize those hits of the hay day lol.

He's built like a SS, and he's shown instincts to play in the box, but he misses more tackles than I'd like to see. He actually graded as one of the best coverage safeties in the league in terms of YPC last year, and he produced a ton of INTs in college, so there's reason to believe he can fit the FS role.

FWIW, Obi Wan graded around 77 in run grade and 81 in pass grade per PFF which I assume to be good/very good, and they seem to be impressed with him in senior bowl practices. I could see him going around the spot Byard did.

You can see here, around the 5:45 Mark that he nearly KOs his own teammate. This is actually a great tape on him. Wish I had more for this season.
