Just want an honest opinion, but do you guys actually care if they paid players to take others out? And why?

yes cause the Titans were not running a parallel system

I think every team should have a bounty system and they should be made public so that fans could make situational bets in Vegas

    Yea. I care.

It's cheating... and disgusting. You've heard the audio of the stuff Gregg Williams was saying, right? He wasn't just talking about hitting a specific player hard. He was specifically targeting ACLs, paying extra for players getting injured and bonuses for players getting carted off, etc.

It's a violent game and these injuries will happen, but as a player (unless you're psychopath James Harrison), you shouldn't be getting off to severely injuring other players. Normal people would feel bad. Remember Lawrence Taylor when he destroyed Joe Theisman's leg? He felt horrible and was waving on in the medical staff, sincerely concerned about Theisman.

Williams was a complete psycho... and he sucked as a DC anyways. Dumbazz cost the Saints in the playoffs back to back seasons when the Seahawks and 49ers ran train on them.

Where would you draw the line?

You want to see people get hurt, watch UFC or boxing.

    My god...

NFL fans b*** about how sissy the league has become... then you read all these posts- and you wonder; the fans are now sissies, why not cater to them?

You guys are seriously butt-hurt because one team got "caught" for doing something EVERY team does?

And even if every team doesn't do it- they should.

Good lord. It's football. Our coaches wanted us taking kids out from pop-warner through high school... and you think NFL players are going to be different? Every player out there knows it's part of the game.

Hope none of you are fight fans. Hate to inform you- they're trying to take the other guy out, too.

I understand your point and from the point of view of the average person it is a sinister thing to do. I just think players think that way when going into a game. I don't think no one can honestly think that a player this season hasn't thought or said they were aiming for Adrian Peterson's knee ( hypothetically speaking).

you know you can LEGALLY lay someone out without having to intentionally trying to injure them right?

If you get hit HARD, LEGALLY, then you say its a good hit and hope the guy is well. If a guy is under a pile and someone is twisting his ankle trying to injure it, its a little different. Its clear some of you did not look into this situation at all and only looked at a few headlines.

I dont see why this is so hard for some people to understand. Yea I love HARD HITTING football, I do not however enjoy CHEAP football.

The cheap part of the game is not going away. That goes for any sport. You are watching a violent sport, but are expecting it to be honest.

A proper tackles and an illegal one (leading with the helmet) are two different things.

Using the "its a violent sport" excuse is a cop out. Boxing is a violent sport, but you cant kick the guy in the nuts. There are rules to all sports and there are things you can and cant do. Just because people get away with it, doenst mean you ignore it.

Follow the rules. Its that simple. The sport will survive, even if the cheap shots are taken out.
