    How do you figure that?

  2. There's no way Rolle comes back. He said he wants playing time. He wouldn't even be our nickel back...

I'll admit, I don't know if this is truly accurate... it's from wikipedia.

"On August 12, 2008 the Baltimore Ravens signed Neal to a one year contract.

Neal played in his first game with the Ravens Week one against the Bengals, when he served as the back-up to Le'Ron McClain and helped the Ravens rush for 229 yards and recorded one reception for 13 yards. During Week 2, he helped the Ravens hold the ball for 13:18 in the fourth quarter against the Browns. During Week 5, on the road against the Indianapolis Colts he subbed for McClain and helped protect rookie Quarterback Joe Flacco, allowing him to set career-highs with a 73.7% completion and 241 passing yards. During Week 8 in Cleveland, Neal subbed for McClain and helped the Ravens rush for a season* high 193 yards in the 37-*27 victory. In Week 10 (at the New York Giants), Neal started his first game as a Raven and helped protect Joe Flacco, allowing him to complete 60.6% of his passes and holding the Giants to just one sack."

Seems to me he was an important role player in their running back by committee approach. Maybe I'm overvaluing him as a blocker at this point and his contribution to the Ravens last season. Having not watched every Ravens game its hard to say. But he's one of the better true fullbacks in the history of the game.

Imo, its a smart approach to keep talented players away from other teams, when there is cap space to do it. Keep in mind it was a one-year deal, so there aren't future cap repercussions.

are you joking? Harper statistically (thrown to % etc) had better numbers then Finnegan last season. You guys buy into the "interception" stat way to much.

Yes, harper struggles deep, but hes about as solid as it gets on the short coverage. Disregarding age, I would take Harper over Finny any day of the week, because I know I can get Harper safety help on the deep routes to offset that issue, and I know hes not going to cost our team 15 yard penalties on any given down.

About Rolle, I wouldn't mind him, I doubt he comes here though. I think hes looking for playing time and money, neither which we are going to give him. And we have a hard time giving anyone money.

If we would of drafted Rolle, we wouldn't of picked Griffin. Heck, we might be looking at Dwayne Bowe playing opposite of Justin Gage right now, with Rolle and Hope in the secondary.

I'm not sure role is in any position to demand a starting job right now. Maybe after camp starts and somebody losses a starting CB will he be able to get a job like that.

From what i can see he is a NB caliber guy at this stage of his career.

WTF are you talking about? Neal only started 5 games, their starting backfield was mcclain and mcgahee. Neal had nothing to do with why they were a playoff team.

So we are supposed to sign players who have no value to us just to keep our rivals from getting them?

    What planet?
