This wasn’t a good sign next to Titans defensive tackle Sammie Hill’s locker on Thursday: crutches.

Hill suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s game against the Texans, and didn’t finish the game. He missed practice on Thursday for the second straight day, and coach Mike Munchak said it’s unlikely Hill will play on Sunday against the Chargers.

Hill experienced swelling earlier in the week, and he’s using the crutches to take the pressure off the right ankle.

“I’m just going to work my butt off to try and get back,’’ Hill said. “One thing I can’t do is put a timetable on it because when you assume, people look for you to get back (sooner).

“I have to wait until it’s good and healed and try and keep working hard to get back as soon as possible.”

On the injury front, cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson didn’t finish practice with a hamstring injury, while right tackle David Stewart (leg) and linebacker Zach Brown (illness) returned after missing Wednesday. Receiver Kendall Wright missed practice again Thursday and is listed on the injury report with a concussion.
