Titans rookie center Brian Schwenke left practice early Saturday after straining his left hamstring.

“He tried to push through it a little bit,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “When he was pushing off it he just felt it wasn’t quite right, so we took him out. We don’t think it’s anything serious in that way, just more something that’s part of this time of year.”

Munchak said the Titans would probably hold Schwenke out of practice on Sunday, hoping that he’ll be ready to go when Tennessee practices on Tuesday. The team is off on Monday.

Schwenke is competing for the starting center job, along with veterans Rob Turner and Fernando Velasco.

Stretching doesn't always prevent a pulled hamstring.
