If any of you guys would like to support your local arts, and maybe even meet yours truly- come to Center For the Arts in Murfreesboro to watch 'Scrooge' The Musical. It's a great show. 2 more weeks left, though this Friday/Saturday are sold out. There are still Thursday, Sunday, and next Thurs, Fri, Sat (all at 7:30) and then Sunday (2pm) shows though for now.

    I play Scrooge. Fitting? :D

But yeah... come out if you want to see a good show with your fam to get you in the holiday spirit.

    You can get tickets online-

    http://boroarts.org/

If you go, stop by and say hi in the gallery afterward. We can high-five or shake hands. Or you can punch me for something I may have said here once.

Wish you luck, Gloat. Not possible for me to go (based on my location), but break a leg out there.

    :( Sorry to disappoint.

BUT he is black. Which is a bit of a twist from the norm. All that really means is he's probably a much faster, more athletic child of bad health.

What exactly does break a leg mean?

There are countless origins for the phrase, ranging from Shakespearean plays to the Turkish and Yiddish origins, or even the ancient Greek theatre.

The most noteworthy, modern explanation? It's a phrase created from superstitious origins.Rather than wish someone "good-luck", thus insuring failure, you do the opposite, or wish them to break a leg. Sort of like reverse-psychology.

A scientist once told me your leg will break if you ran faster than 26mph, so to say "break a leg" to a track star was a good thing, and then Bolt ran 28mph and nothing happened. So up til that point, I use to always tell runners to break a leg before their competition, now I don't. That scientist was probably only talking about white guys I guess.

Since you're acting, saying to do something bad like 'break a leg' is for reverse effect.

Well, our Tiny Tim fell off the balcony early in the rehearsals and broke his arm. I'd like to know how many broken legs there are annually in stage performances... may want to give it a second thought depending on the statistics.
