I was having a conversation with a friend about religion and sin and stuff like that and the topic got around to his friend. She goes on mission trips to Africa or other impoverished areas. I was talking about how she is making personal impacts on those lives. And my friend was like "but think about the expense it took her to get there, it was around 3-4 grand for that trip. Wouldn't it be better if that money was just used to help the people instead of her physically being there?"

Made me think about that a little differently.

IDK what the graduation rate in TN is, but here in CT its about 58%. I know this because our governor was on TV just two days ago talking about getting that number up.

I'm actually surprised a place like CT has such a low graduation rate, but has so much money coming thru.

    Anyone know Tennessee's graduation rate?

Wiki is a very credible source.

The only reason professors do not like it is because it is easy. See all those citations at the bottom of the page? Yup, thats credibility.
    2 people high five this.

It's so easy to help people in Africa, they have absolutely nothing. Not that it's a bad thing, it's fantastic, but I always get a little laugh out of people who brag about helping Africa.

I wasn't the one quoting Wiki. Well, I did once to show that it has a bunch of random stats.

I couldn't find the actual number, but I did find that it went up 18% from 2002 to 2009. New York was second at a 12% increase.

+18% is great. Even better if that number is anywhere near 50%.

But it doesn't matter because TN is a state and we must judge it by the region!!!

The fact that ANYBODY can put a citation in Wikipedia without confirmation begs to question of whether it's credible.

That's why you use the article that the citation comes from, not the one sentence that they put on Wiki.
