INDIANAPOLIS Return man Leon Washington, signed on Tuesday, provided a special teams boost in his debut with the Titans.

He had a 33-yard punt return in the third quarter that put the Titans in scoring position. For the game against the Colts, he averaged 21.5 yards on two punt returns and 26.0 on three kickoff returns.

“Whenever we get the ball on special teams, you want to put the offense in a position to score points,” Washington said. “It was a good start for us, but we didn’t win the game so there’s no consolation prize. Next time we have to go out there and execute even better.”
