agreed but isn't Chow in a booth ?

and iirc, Jeff calls the formations/packages and the OC calls the plays
if Jeff were actually calling plays, there'd be no need for Chow

Zell, you are watching steckel's brand of offense. It's jeff fisher's brand of offense.

    Fisher vs chow..

People close to USC give chow direct credit for turning carson palmer around from a wasted talent into a heisman winner. Many have called chow the greatest ever college offensive coordinator.

Some QBs chow has coached in his career.
    Steve young--jim mcmahon--ty detmer--carson palmer--matt leinart..

Chow has coached 6 ncaa passing efficiency leaders.

Jeff fisher? Well you know his offensive philosophy.

So if we are too conservative, too predictable who would you blame?

    How 'bout the Fridge?

In my opinion, Ralph Friedgen is the only choice to replace Norm Chow as OC.
Just think, if Fisher tried overriding Friedgen's play-calling, Ralph just might eat Fish.

I believe it's widely known here that I am not part of the Chow Fan Club.

That said, it may be tough to get rid of him simply because he reputedly gives really lousy interviews. It may even get worse when he can't point to a success story in Nashville.

Oh I know....I was living in Nashville back then. That was the most anemic and predictable.......well maybe not anymore with Chow to compare with.

I too would take Heimerdinger back in a heartbeat. He would mesh well with VY, I think. McNair's best years (including the MVP year) were with him as the OC.

I agree, Chow was a great college OC, and may be a great college coach, as was Lou Holtz, Steve Spurrier, Bobby Petrino, and others. However, this does not always translate to the pros (as the Jets, Redskins, and now Falcons can attest). Heimerdinger was able to cut through the conservatism during his tenure here, so it can be done.
