Stevie lived and died by the Strat, which I never use - but early on I did learn some of his chops and they probably linger a bit. My guys were always Billy Zoom and Billy Gibbons - so pretty much blues and Chuck Berry doublestop playing by default..

I saw Dick Dale back in the 90's and it was utterly amazing.
Not long after that Link Wray played the capital lawn in Nashville for free.
10 people showed up - and but put on an exhibition.

1/1000th of that talent is good for me!

Yea, I was about to say, if you play anything bluesy, you probably picked up something from SRV haha.

Sounded like a strat, but I haven't played in forever. Is it a Gretch?

I lived by Ibanez, love em.

Yeah I play the big Setzer Gretsch on all of that record..
When you say Ibanez do you mean the Vai shaped thingy?
I had an Iceman years ago but my drummer left in a hot car..

I play an S series, essentially what Satriani plays. I love Vai, and met him at G3 in 2003, but do not like that style guitar.

I owned a strat shaped Ibanez not long ago but I gave it to Dick Hammer because I knew I'd never play it. Most of my Ibanenz experience is with the older models like the Iceman and their version of the Les Paul etc.
