It doesn't matter how many they play with. The point is it brings in competition, which seems like we rarely do unless it's a rookie. Also, the signing actually gives us depth. So if Wilson struggles or gets hurt we can just plug in Pollard. Great teams have depth, they can overcome most injuries because they make smart signings and draft well. It's not just about having the first 22 players it's also about making sure we have an overall talented roster.

Whenever someone was hurt last year we had a significant drop off, especially on the OL and the back 7 on defense. Mostly because the depth we had on OL were projects and on defense most were Special Teams players. We have to improve the roster and bring in more attitude for this young team. This would be a great signing, if the money is right of course.

Also let's not forget about the draft. We could take a Safety early but again, the chances of a mid-late round pick being depended on for depth like we usually do isn't good. That's what we always do and it hardly ever works out. We can go CB early and have a nice trio, sign Pollard, and boom we have 6 starting caliber DB's.

Good points. It would be nice to get some competition in our secondary for once lol. Hopefully the price will be right though.

Bernard Pollard kind of sucks. He's pretty much a linebacker playing safety.
