And supposedly his release would have taken the DE with him... I truely doubt the DE was responsible for the slot on that play.

Also, it was an outside zone fake to the boundary, the DE is responsible to stay home and cut off any cutback lane. Just a weird design altogether

 

The bottom line is they pressed us all day at the LOS. They had no fear of MM dropping a long one on them. We can run zone reads, option plays, trick plays, etc, but until we hit a deep ball they will continue to press us and play 8-9 in the box. With Wright out again this week they have no fear of a slant going for big yards, so I expect more of the same.

 

Not how swings work. The TD doesn't happen if the Titans get that fg.

 

They were flooding the LOS and the box due to our personnel. Full house. 22P. 1 WR not even to the numbers. - or when we had an 7 man protection with two WRs on deep curls over the middle... 1 TE on a flag to the left. Everyone was just chillin in the MOF. Design was coercing the defense in odd ways.

we also baited the run defense, always with misdirection, then when it came to 3rd and 1- instead of proving our dominance, we tried trick plays and went 5wide. - we were scared.

I don't know why we don't use two TE's on the left or right and Fowler lead blocking. You want smashmouth - that's smashmouth. MM could always fake it too and run opposite or throw downfield.
