Steve Jobs R.I.P.

We put our systems thru alot of work. We have never had a hard drive fail on a mac based system.

We do have a system (Quantel) that is windows based, but it is proprietary to Quantel. It works great. The only system we have that gives us a TON of headaches is Linux based.

I don't care what you use honestly. I like macs because that is what I am used to. Doesn't mean other stuff doesn't work good as well. I've personally have had issues with every windows PC I've had, but I'm just talking about the system we would buy at a Best Buy...HP or Compaq...what ever was on sell.

 

Biggest myth about macs, they don't crash... or do they? ^ 4 months old... $3,000 macbook. Also, I should note that I have several IT certifications. I see this all the time.

 

Yeah, my sisters MacBook has had more problems than any tech device I've ever owned. Thing is in repair more than her possession.

Mine starting to suddenly slow down/freeze so often worries me.

 

I call BS on that mac being 4 months old. Those keys don't look sticky at all.

 

Okay, except for [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague" ] that run of bad logicboards created by a case of botched corporate espionage between 2005-2007[/url], but other than that they're pretty good considering that they're built with the tears of small children. Oh, yeah, and that Mac Cube was AWESOME!

Though I own a Mac- and have owned two others- I still enjoy the Apple-bashing. Here's something for DW

Apple will surely miss Jobs' leadership, though. In fact it's already starting to show.

But really, can't we all agree that the iPad is impractical and stupid?

It's just a silly toy. Which is fine if you have money to blow on that sort of thing- AND if you can admit it.

 

^The monitor is for the G5. The G5 is basically useless though... runs slower than you can imagine if you're doing anything but browsing the internet.

 

No, we can't. primarily because studio and filmmaking engineers use it to control their production tools remotely. A friend of mine is a guy who absolutely despises everything Apple- including Jobs himself- and has gotten more value out of his iPad than all previous gadgets combined.

 

Not buying it. They're simply slightly larger smart phones.

What is he doing with it that cant be done on iphone?

 

Yeah, to me they're totally useless. Somehow the whole tablet thing caught on though.
