Panthers just cut WR Steve Smith.

Its been rumored that Smith requested a trade to either the Cowboys, Patriots, Ravens, Bucs, or Chargers. None of that happened so he was flat out let go.

Dont take me posting this thread as me signing off on Smith, but if we're reportedly looking into Nate Burleson, we should consider Smith because he's better.

If the Panthers cut him, he's likely done. They have no WRs.

He wants to go to a place that actually has a qb. Why would he come here? Whitehurst?

He was due a lot of money. But youre right, they had nothing going at WR outside of Smith.

I would love to have Smith on a 2 year deal, but I think he will end up with the Ravens or Pats, especially if Edelman goes elsewhere.

Kinda older and wont be cheap. I like him, but seems like a clone to Nate.

Both play with tenacity, but Smith is pretty physical for his size, Nate not so much.

That would be a nice piece for them.
