    I thought about making this thread earlier. I think Smith would be a great signing for 1 year.

    His play reminds me (slightly) of Wright, and I think he would be a great veteran leader for him. It would also give Hunter another year to come into his own, with less pressure to be a 1 or a 2.

    Would rather take what we can get with Smith than try to do something with NB.

    Only reason baseball players go to the Yankees is because the Yankees offer them way more money than anyone else does. Team of mercenaries. Most would not be there all things being equal.
