Super 'B.S.' Media Day

    I was looking around and found an article on Roby our former 3rd round WR as you remember. This guy was not even ok here. With the Saints he's in my opinion even worse. He doenst have elite speed and is a taller lanky return man i dont see him having anther good season. They (including his teammates) are making him out to be something great. I havnt been watching the Saints but i watched his highlights and the 97 an 60 something yarder was pure blocking. in fact, if anyone fast was returning the 60 yarder it would have gone for a TD no doubt. I cant find any regular season highlights of him but im going to assume its probably a result of some good blocking.

    Ill what you what sticks out to me that they should be reporting on is that even though belonging to one of the most pass happy attacks in the game he hasnt been able to crack 100 yards receiving IN A SEASON in the two years there. In fact, his stat line reads a whopping 1 reception for 6 yards. WOW. Also, hes been with the Colts (most prolific passing in the league) and Bengals (also very pass oriented), forget catching a ball, he wasnt even able to stay on their rosters' for a season.

    to sum it it, basically media day is BS when there talking about roby's contributions to the saints. they had a great Offense and D and the ST pulled its weight (due to blocking) but if there counting on Roby in the game there gonna lose - im pulling for the Saints in this game too. As for the media day, the only time ill probably be able to follow all those vids and analysis is when we get back to that game. Overboard a bit much...

    If we had Roby returning kicks, we would have probably have been in the playoffs...

    The Jets game is the obvious giveme...I wouldn't be surprised if it won us another game somewhere along the line...

    Roby is a former Titan so I can't hate on him getting over sold to the public. Let the media pump up a regular guy for once instead of talking up Manning or Brees some more.

    To be fair, he doesn't get receptions because he isn't on the field as a WR much. At best, he's their 5th wideout. He's a role player as a returner, and he's done pretty well at it. Most return games are more about the blocking than the returner.

    I don't think anyone would argue that he's amazing, or that he's even a decent WR.

    Yes, he's getting some fluff coverage. That's the downside of having two weeks before the super bowl.
