Teams should do what the Raiders are doing....

    now this sounds like a really bad thread and yeah i would def also wonder wat it is about. only thing that should be copied from the raiders is the way they are handling their 1st round pick Russell. If all the teams did that, not signin them right away to what would be insane huge contract. If all teams did this....eventually players would have to sign...w/ no 1 givin huge deals until they prove something. Wanst there first contract offer to him something like 30M?

    slotted salaries w/bonus for draft position is the best answer, All rookie deals at 4 years. Teams can extend early if they recognize a marquee player. Big contracts should come after they have earned them. That way, the money goes to who deserves it, the teams get their money's worth.

    It certainly should happen that way, but it probably won't. The agents lose out that way, and they'll fight it as hard as they can.

    The NFLPA would get behind something like that IMO. The agents can mouth off all they want- threaten to hold out the rooks, etc. but it won't matter if the vets are willing to play. The rooks want to work and get some kind of money.

    i agree with everything you said, but it seems like ever year around ten first day rookies go down in the first 7 weeks of the season(four preseason games and 3 regular season), you don't have t worry about that in basketball or baseball because those sports aren't as physically demanding.
