Maybe in all these interviews the other teams are seeing something that Jeff Fisher and Bud don't?

He clearly isn't qualified to be a head coach or somebody would have jumped on him by now. I think he's a decent DC, but he lacks a killer instinct - he's scared to be too aggressive. This is a quality that most Titans fans want to see in a DC. Me too.

    Jim Schwartz Wikipedia:

Jim Schwartz (Born July 2nd, 1966) is the current defensive coordinator for the NFL's Tennessee Titans.

Schwartz has served as the Titans DC for the past six seasons, and was runner-up to Mike Nolan for the San Francisco 49ers head coaching position in 2005. In January, 2008, he interviewed for head coaching positions with the Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons. AND GOT NONE OF THEM :ha:

Schwartz's defenses have been notoriously successful on third down against the run. SAYS NOTHING ABOUT THE PASS COVERAGE THIRD DOWNHe does, however, continue to receive criticism from Tennessee Titans fans who blame him for the decline of their once dominating defense. :sad2::barf: Others argue that the decline of the Titans' defense is a result of the loss of numerous defensive stars from 2003-2005 due to salary cap considerations. Indeed, Schwartz's defense rebounded into the top half of the league during a 10-win 2007 season.

The thing is, he'll be back and we'll again play super soft defense if we ever have any kind of a lead. Hopefully Dinger can get our offense to be productive enough to counter Jimmy's inept play with a lead defense.

  7. He is interviewing to be the head coach, not DC. Different job.

That makes no sense. Lots of coordinators would be qualified to be a head coach, but that doesn't mean they ever get a chance. There are very few jobs to go around and tons of potential candidates.

You might as well be saying that Priest Holmes clearly wasn't qualified to plan in the NFL or he would have been drafted...

Schwartz actually was the front runner for the Skins job during the first round of interviews. In fact, he was being praised by the newspapers there as being Gibb's possible replacement. It didn't hurt he had ties to the area either. However, some BS about them considering him was a slap in the face to Williams popped up and I didn't see another thing about Schwartz after that. Honestly, if they hire Fassell, I think it will be the worst move ever. Why hire a supposed offensive mind who barely could survive in another big market (NY) and couldn't cut it as OC for the Ravens? Very bad hire IMO, considering they have Saunders who supposedly is one of the most heralded OC's - not to mention most paid.

EDIT: Noticed they aren't likely to retain Saunders. But the fact that they are trying to hire Zorn as OC and Ryan as DC before they have a HC in place is stupid. Shouldn't the new HC pick his staff? Snyder is a loser.
