I dont get why anyone would want Poe or Brockers Poe has bust written all over him, combine warrior. None of that athleticsim showed up on the field and his ONLY sack last year came against AUSTIN PEAY. Brockers athleticism is limited and he isnt explosive. He has no burst or pass rush moves to the point where he was taken off the field in pass rushing and dime package downs. I DO think we need to take a DT. DTs make everyone better, from the LBs to the DEs to the CBs... You get to the quarterback early and often you dont have to have top corners. A DT that can collapse the pocket makes average DEs look better then they are (see KVB).
ProFootballFocus does They mentioned McCourty as one of the biggest steals in his draft. Also said that he's better than his twin brother who gets a ton of publicity. I believe I also read on USA Today that we have two of the most underrated CBs in the league, and would be silly to go CB 1st.
Totally agree with the Poe/Brockers comment. Gimme... 1st - Kirkpatrick 2nd - Mychal Kendricks/Zach Brown 3rd - Mike Martin and call it a draft.
I'd take Barron over Gilmore or Kirkpatrick, gladly. Just saying I'm not really a fan of any of the DE's in round 1 and I feel like that's the position we are looking at.
Personally I'd rather us not take a CB in the 1st. I'm hoping that Floyd or DeCastro falls to us. If they're gone then I'd take Barron, Kirkpatrick, Perry, Brockers or Poe in that order.
Gilmore did practice against a sweet azz WR, in Alshon. But, I wouldn't be too impressed if we selected him with our 1st. It's going to take a while for him to get the wheels rolling. One thing I can recall about Gilmore is that he is a very good deep covering CB, but he needs major work on short routes.
