Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky The Houston Texans have signed running back Darius Walker from their practice squad, a move that suggests Ahman Green (ankle) will not play Sunday against Baltimore. Green did not practice but has not been ruled out yet.
Walker played in four games last year, starting two and averaging 4.6 yards a carry. He came into the league as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame.
As Houston braces for Hurricane Ike, the Texans have scheduled a second practice of the day tonight.
"We are coming back tonight to practice," coach Gary Kubiak said. "We're basically going to have a short practice; it will be like our Friday, so I can get them home with their families tomorrow and Saturday morning and see what happens. There will be no work tomorrow. We're fixing to take a little break and come right back out here in three hours, four hours."
The team gained the roster spot for Walker by placing defensive end Stanley McClover on IR.
The Texans also signed running back Arliss Beach, who went to Kentucky, to the practice squad.
