It'd be a great match-up. Believe it or not the Oilers D-line was even more impressive than the O8 Titans unit was. That and the fact I think the now unorthodox "run and shoot" Oilers offence might give the Titans D problems has me picking the Oilers in a hard fought tilt.

Final Score: Houston Oilers 27 Tennessee Titans 17

    Who ya got?

Great idea for a thread tb.

    Oilers 23 Titans 9

I don't think Schwartz would be able to pressure the Oilers O line with only the front four. Game over.

I only see Haynesworth,Bulluck and Finnegan and maybe Griffin getting into the 91 Oilers D lineup.

Difficult to compare offences beyond them both being one dimensional IMO.

I agree, but I think perhaps both Titans safeties could start over McDowell and Orlando. It's a close call on Bubba/Hope.

On offence I think both Titans' OT's would get the nod, as well as Chris Johnson over Pinkett. Can you imagine CJ as the back in the Oilers offence? The mere thought of it is mind-boggling.

    I wouldn't say equally disappointing

The 2000 Titans vs. the 2008 Titans... now that's equally disappointing. In the 2000 season, we had 183 more yards than the Ravens, but Al Del Greco didn't want us to win. In 2008, we had 180 more yards than the Ravens, but Satan wanted us to lose.

183 yards is the most any loser in playoff history has outgained there opponent by... 180 yards is third most. :(

The star studded 1991 Oilers had a ten point, fourth quarter lead on the Broncos in the divisional playoffs... only to be Elwayed. Trust me it was pretty damn disappointing. I'm sure that the yardage differential was minimal as both Elway and Moon had big games, but the expectations for the Oilers were very high that year.
