So, didn't they already do this in all the lotr movies?

What is the point/purpose of this one?

The Hobbit is a prequel of sorts to the Lord of the Rings.

The only real connection (besides the characters) is the finding of the Ring by Bilbo. Otherwise it is a different story/journey.

Just sounds kinda boring without Middle Earth on the brink of destruction. All it showed in the trailer was sitting, pipe smoking and singing. If I wanted that, I would go watch Rent.

Lol! The Hobbit is a great story; compelling enough to have Tolkien continue the story into LOTR. The trailer mentions nothing at all of the antagonist, the climax or even the purpose of the 'adventure'.

Trust me, it is on par with LOTR. If you liked LOTR you will like The Hobbit.
