Sabathia looks tiny compared to Fielder.

baseball, before steroids ruined the game, was a game of skill honed over a lifetime. Most major leagers would not be immediatly recognized as an athlete - but they could hit, they could field and they could throw.

football does reward its rotund players in ways thanks to specialization. As a DT you can be pretty darn fat and still be elite - don't have too be but you can be.

    golf - lol

Eddy, it did make sense, you just didn't get it because you aren't from here. 440 is the loop around downtown Nashville where 40, 65, and 24 intersect as they go through the city. No, it doesn't make an exact circle, and most people actually live outside that loop. However, geographic boundaries about who can be a true fan of a team are pretty laughable coming from a guy who live hundreds of miles away from both the Yankees, and the Titans. The whole thing was just in response to the comment that Yankees fans not from New York are bandwagoners. That would make you a bandwagon titan fan, or a bandwagon Yankee fan if you aren't from New York.

Not that I need to explain myself to you but I'm far from a bandwagon fan. The AAA team in Columbus was the Yankee farm team and before I even watched MLB as a kid I was watching Jeter, Posada, Pettitte, Rivera and whoever else. So no I'm not a bandwagon fan.

What was the stat ESPN showed?

The Yankees spent $265 million while the Rangers spent $55 million? Is this seriously correct?

I was at Pie in the Sky downtown and wasn't in the best of conditions, so I could be wrong.

You are wrong. The NY payroll is $206,000,000. But I don't understand why that's important, the #2, #3, #5, #6, #7, #8, and #9 highest payrolls in baseball didn't even make the playoffs. It's not about how much money you spend it's HOW you spend it. Besides, NY makes more money than any team so what are they supposed to do? Not spend it and just sit on it like some rich old miser?

Then the Rangers did a hell of a job... and did much better than the Yankees.
