I must of missed those games. The Jared Cook I know has 2 career 100+ yard games, drops a ton of balls, and can't block to save his life.

I don't want to make another thread but speaking of Jared Cook...

if we don't tag him and he moves on then what do we do at the position? There aren't many TE's that stand out to me in the draft and no way I would take one in the top 2 rounds. Gavin Escobar and Ryan Otten are pretty interesting in the mid rounds. Free agency isn't a very impressive list either...maybe a Fred Davis or Martellus Bennett? Walker says he wants to go back to SF so unless they piss him of he'll probably be re-signed.

Don't get me wrong, I know he doesn't play to his full potential sometimes, but I feel like when we contend he plays much better(much like a lot of our big name guys). They just don't play as hard when they know there's nothing to play for. He has also shown that he can make some ridiculous catches when he's playing motivated.

Also, I meant to say an elite receiving TE...It wouldn't be horrible if we let go of him because I think Craig Stevens is great, but it would also be REAL nice to hold onto him and continue developing our 2 TE offense.

Dowell Loggains was on 104.5 yesterday morning. I only caught part of it, but he sounded like that Cook was certainly a part of the plan for next year. Was talking about how excited the new TE coach is to have Cook/Stevens/Thompson as his guys. Really expecting big things from that position. Loggains said they are changing away from the numbers verbage used by Palmer which was confusing to a words verbage like Dinger used.

Safety is the one spot that we just must sign in FA. We need a starter and waiting until the draft to find that guy just isn't smart because I don't think their are a bunch of plug in starters from day 1 in the draft. So if you wait then you more than likely are forced to reach at some point in the draft to get a starting safety.

Luckily it looks like the FA safety class is the deepest position of all.
