I'd like to see us go and get Laron Landry and Osi Umenyora for the defense, then the best available guard or tackle depending on who it is

    Except re-signings happen pre-draft.

Finally finished reading all this. Lots of good ideas. But how many will our team leaders go after. I remember last year post after post about changes we needed to make, and players we needed to go after only to end up the team doing almost nothing in Free Agency. I know it has to be different this year, but its weird how year after year after year we never get the top FA guys. The last big FA signing I can remember was DE Kevin Carter in '02. Babin worked out pretty good that one yr, but then we let him get away. I wonder if big names hate the idea of playing for a small market team like ours.

For example, as long as the Titans have been here, we are in the top 5 fewest Pro Bowl players selected the past 10 years. Everyones contract has a bonus for Pro Bowl yet if a player knows they have little shot of making a Pro Bowl if they play for us, they choose to go somewhere else. Heck, the LAST PLACE Chiefs had 5 Pro Bowl Players! How are they Pro Bowl players when their team can't win 3 games? I remember in '02 when we were 11-5 and played in the AFC Championship against Oakland we had ZERO Pro Bowl players ZERO. So the 4th best team in a year has no one, yet the worst team can get 5, not one or two which is what they might have deserved, but 5!!.

I know this comes into play with us getting players. We are like the Conference USA of the NFL when it comes to getting talent to come our way. Only time we ever get someone special is from the Draft (i.e. CJ end of 1st and before Cortland end of 7th round)

$$$$$ talks. Historically I agree with you, however, I think this year is different. We have a coach and a GM both playing for their jobs next year. I think they will do what it takes to bring in the right pieces...hopefully

Don't want Hillis, he's a cancer in the lockerroom I guess. Isn't Brandon Jenkins hurt, tore his ACL or something? Laron Landry is a risk, he's always hurt. Yes, he was a pro-bowler.. but he didn't deserve it... he's still a good player though. I seirously doubt that Jones will be available in the 2nd. Still very little LB depth, McCarthy will likely go down and then where are we? Witherspoon isn't a starter.

I wouldn't lose any sleep if Sen'Derrick Marks was let go. That 2nd round draft pick never did nothing for me; and still ... nothing more than decent backup depth. He's the one DT who shouldn't be back.

Agreed, even if he's on the cheap, let him go. We know what Marks is, what we don't know is what can Mike Martin do? He already looked better than Marks did in one season. I'm really hoping we can find a DT in FA or draft.

exactly. Martin has potential to be very solid. Marks never seemed to be disciplined enough, IMHO.
