I guess you guys have learned to ignore things like National Championships.

The ACC was right there complaining with them. The rule was proposed by the SEC and the ACC.

 

Yes and no.

Some ACC presidents/ADs were for satellite camps. Coaches were pretty much unanimously against it.

I never understood the issue. There is enough talent in the talent-rich areas to go around. Official visits are paid for by the program, so if a kid wants to see a school he can do so for free. Kids are in constant contact with coaches via social media now. There is literally nothing preventing kids from forming relationships with coaching staffs, so I don't see these camps as a big deal.

I'd rather see something that prevents schools from hiring fathers/HS coaches who coincidentally have a son/athlete being recruited at the same time, unless that father/coach is a legacy. That **** goes on way too much and is essentially pay-for-play.

 

I get what you are saying, but that would stink for high school coaches trying to get into the college ranks. Good high school coaches are always going to have prospects.

 

Vols were stuck with that awful roundball HC Wade Houston for years. He was just turrible, but hey his useless kid finished his UT career atop the all time scorers list. Ahead of Benard King and Grunfeld
