But does anyone really care? Who knows how much money was wasted in this eight-week trial. http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/18/us/clemens-trial-verdict/index.html
Good deal!! What the hell is the gov doing dealing with this in the first place? Trying to distract Americans from what the real problems are would be my guess. Totally pathetic...
I agree that the gov't has no business dealing with this, and that this was a HUGE waste of money and time. But lets not delude ourselves here....the guy was juicing. Of all the items I feel bad about in this process, impact to his life is on the bottom of the list for me.
Whole thing was stupid anyway. Find me a baseball player that didn't use roids and I'll find you a prostitute that had a stable upbringing.
Baseball is done as the american Pastime. I live in St. Louis Cardinal territory. People wear the jersey, but people rarely actually watch the games. They just like saying "I'm a Card's fan!" and since Pujols left, even less of them.
I have no doubt the guy was juicing. But it should have been handled by local law enforcement or at most by the DEA. Congress has no business dealing with this. In most cases I would have wanted a conviction.(for using PEDs. Not for lying to congress since they had no business dealing with it in the first place) But in this case I'm glad he got off just to stick it to the dumb azz congressmen.
