my prediction, and we could all probably just read the comic version and get a good idea of whats going to happen, though I haven't, is that Carl didn't shoot Lori, she comes back as a walker, this opens the door to searching for a cure which will become a major storyline brought to light by the Governor and his scientist who I think will eventually find something that resembles a cure and that power struggle. This will probably take several seasons to develop though.

Best episode in a long while. I do think Lori's dead, but we will definitely see her again somehow...

Flashback Lori and Walker Lori better be it.

I dont know squat about child birthing but they did play up the excessive ammount of blood without dialation. I guess running from zombies while 9 months preggers is pretty real bad. Then Lori was gutted like a fish and supposedly given an anti zombie head shot.

Lori better be dead and available as a walker or flashback only

FWIW I just had a discussion regarding Lori with my friend who is a doctor and also a huge fan of the show. He says from a realistic medical standpoint, he doesn't see any way Lori could survive. Said it was clear she was definitely dying even before Carl "shot" her. Said the fact that she was bleeding so heavily before the c-section + no sterile tools + no supplies = goner.

Of course this is a TV show so anything is possible. But there's some "medical expertise" for those who had questions surrounding the severity of the situation (myself included).

A C-section without stopping bloodflow of the major abdominal veins would probably do you in pretty quickly. That death was indeed too quick. I saw a motorcycle accident where a guy bled out half a wading pool of blood and still survived.

Yep... that's exactly what I was saying. There's just no way to survive that.

But you have shows like House that are 90% medically inaccurate and it wouldn't surprise me too much if she survived, I guess. But it would be pretty lame.

How do they know that Carol is dead? They had 3 graves and I'm assuming for Lori, T-dog and Carol... but we haven't seen that Carol is actually dead yet. I think she is still alive somewhere.
