But the fact it wasn't obvious sooner is a telling sign that Verner is not this amazing player 3 guys on this board make him out to be.

Im just going to stop right here because this argument is getting old.

I think they just wanted more size on the outside. Ideally, I'd like Vern to slide into the slot ala Finny. His quickness and smarts would serve the team better than in 3 wide sets. But yea, it is an old argument. One that will probably be brought up on a weekly basis depending on their play. Hopefully both have grown and show they deserve to be in this secondary.

Verner isn't a better cover corner than McCourty and I'm not sure why people think he is. What he is though is just a straight up play maker. Vern doesn't care that the opposing receiver is 6'3 and runs a 4.2 he'll line up and give it his all every play. Verner makes picks happen, he doesn't sit back and wait for a chance that may never come. He has great instincts and is very aggressive. If he had McCourty's measurables he'd be a MUCH better player than McCourty. And that means a lot to me because I think J-mac is pretty freaking good.

So you're denying that you said Battle sucked and Parmele was way better than him?

Let's remember that the steelers probably have the worst set of skill players in the league.

I still love the intensity that we're playing with, but let's wait a couple weeks before we act like our defensive woes are gone.

I said Battle sucked and Parmele had more upside.

Think this through. Battle is a guy who has traditionally broken down every year after a few weeks. Im sorry I saw more value in a younger RB whos gotten better every time he saw the field.
