    Are they both about the same size? I love big dogs but they can knock a kid for a loop.

    Yeah, almost identical in size and both very mild tempered. I know what you mean about big dogs and kids. I got a golden retriever when I was 4 and had the bruises to prove it.

    I was gonna put off getting a larger dog for a while, but I'm jonesin' :lol:

    It's a tough call. Some adoption kennels will allow you to "try before you buy". They may allow you to take one home for a couple of days and see how the dog acts around the kids. Then you can try the other.
