I'm actually not to against it any more as I was at the start. I wouldn't mind finally seeing Britt and Wright starting and seeing what we definitely have with Britt.

Well, in his three years at Pittsburgh he averaged 35 catches for 568 yards with "Big" Ben passing to him, so I would say pretty much all of it is on Nate.

I really hope this doesn't mean we're thinking about drafting another freaking WR, especially in this class of horrid WR's.

name the last time a receiver has done that outside of the sideshow we have in Britt.

This class is actually very deep with quality receivers, there just aren't a lot of elite ones you wanna take in the top 10.

yeah, but Nate is a great slot WR..he's also a leader...that's why we need him.

Our FO probably thinks they can match his talent while paying a lot less(and they're probably right). Remember when Steve Breaston came in for a visit???? We probably offered him a little 2 million dollar deal or so(2.5 million less than Nates). Doing something like this, and then cutting amano and restructuring Hass could end up saving us a very nice chunk of cash. Maybe get us from 5-7 under the cap to more like 13-15? This would give us plenty of breathing room to sign a CB or DE.

If we don't get Breaston, there's still other slot WR's laying around out there: Louis Murphy, Devery Henderson, Steve Smith(formerly of the Giants), Kevin Walter, Julian Edelman, Josh Cribbs, and Ted Ginn would all be decent signings.

I'm not saying I'm for or against this idea....it's a sticky situation because I love Nate...he's just getting paid too much.

    naaaaaaaaa

I'm just kidding...there are a few decent looking guys, but there's no way I would take a WR in the first 3 rounds when we should be taking a truly talented CB/S/DE/OG/Leveon Bell

If Kuharsky is right, his leadership isn't as good as you might think.

All I am saying is that the production will not be that hard to replace. Not throwing a blanket on Nate's contribution.. In my mind, we have not had a reliable QB since Moon so I hear you. Just no sense getting too tearful if Nate moves on as the production over his entire career has been average, whether at Pitt or Tenn.

What did he have to say about him? Nate always does the pregame speeches and plays with so much energy...It'd be hard to replace that with some random slot WR in free agency...
