Time for a new backup QB?

Drafting a QB anywhere outside the first or high second seems like a waste. Hardly any of them do anything. At least there is a better chance another position will do well and if not he can help on ST.

We do need to address this. There is nothing worth having after Mariota. We need a better vet backup for sure. We also need a better 3rd QB; rookie/2nd year type for grooming.

There will be many vets around. Maybe 2-3 first round QBs and I see several that could go 2nd or 3rd. I could see a QB selection in round 3 IF the right guy is there, but I'd like to see someone drafted even late to compete for QB3 spot. And for sure a better vet to play QB2.

 

I agree on get backup, good to have a vet on the roster.

For third string I would rather pick up a young guy than waste a draft pick on one.

 

Tanney may well be the backup but I still see the Titans signing a vet for camp competition. I also see them signing a UDFA for more camp depth. I think the Titans will want four QB's in camp.

 

I would just elevate Tanney to backup
