Titans Agree to Terms With Veteran Safety Nickey

This BOOM thing looks like it's gonna stick.

I never thought Donnie Nickey would ever have a real nickname. The BOOM it is.

 

I am not even going to begin explaining the absurdity of that comment.

 

Who said he didn't do anything on special teams last year? He was the leader on the team with 17 special teams tackles BTW.

 

That's why it's called "Special teams" it's for those "special" people.

 

I'm not knocking Nickey personally and can't hate him for making a living. My knock is on the FO. Locking up a guy like Nickey instead of getting return guy or a more pressing need, is what rubs me the wrong way.

 

Just cause they sign a backup does not mean they are not going to look for anyone else. Most S's don't return kicks anyways. This just keeps them for having to look to the draft for someone else. The Boom knows the system and loves being in TN. Chris Hope doesn't get injured much so why not just keep The Boom around the play Special teams and do spot work on D.

 

Free Agency hasn't started...

 

Yeah I know, it's just a precursor of things to come though. Same ole lame ole. I hope I'm wrong and we are active in FA. I'll gladly admit I was wrong.

 

Just so everyone knows...

Donnie Nickey had 9 tackles all year...including his masterful special teams tackles.

Because apparently there's something in the air going around infecting people with the thought that he's great at special teams as if it's 2006 again.

 

Are we really calling Donnie Nickey "The Boom"? Oh man. LOL it's funny, but what if this catches on and people hear we've got "The Boom", our secret weapon will be exposed.
