Titans Agree with Third-Round Pick TE Stevens

SUMMARY: The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with TE Craig Stevens. The Titans selected Stevens with their third-round selection (85th overall) out of the University of California. He played in 50 games with 33 starts in four seasons, one game shy of the school record. He had 17 receptions for 204 yards and a career-high three touchdowns last season. The Titans have now agreed to terms with five of their seven draft choices, only RB Chris Johnson and DL Jason Jones remain unsigned. The team opens training camp on Friday, July 25th.

At the very least, he gives the team even more depth behind two very good TE, right now.

Hard to get excited about a guy that "blocks well" but isn't a lineman.

Blocking and tackling kind of essential to a team's success in football? Unless you have been working as a himalayan sherpa the last 20 years you might know that.

At the very least he replaces hartsock as our tough guy blocking TE but potentially a much better receiver.

 

RT, gloat doesn't really follow football that much, he just likes the guys that score and are fast....

RT - I find it funny that the guy constantly hating on a single player starts a line with "-so and so- at it again". Don't worry, I'm not stealing your act.

Blocking is essential. But if it's the only thing you're supposed to be good at and you're not a lineman...uhhh. Would you want a WR that cant get open or catch but can block? No. You wouldn't. So why get excited about a TE that does the same?
