As the Titan's passing game seems to become more and more limited, I keep thinking about how more of a spread look might benefit Marcus and the offense. I started googling about the Patriots and their spread schemes, since Marcus is a natural spread qb and Titans also possess big powerful running backs similar to Blount. I found a couple of very interesting articles right off the bat and I thought I'd share them. One goes into some detail on what the Patriots do and how it has evolved (and other current systems in use around the league), and an article from last year regarding the spread and how is becoming more common in the NFL (Marcus is mentioned).
The Patriots do a lot of spread and get good production from their power back. So it is doable.

Spread offense wouldn't fit Murray, this current offense doesn't fit flota. It's a catch 22

    Last paragraph from spread story:

Those trends also beg a more interesting question: shouldn't NFL offenses be built around the skill set of the quarterback, and not the other way around? If you're betting the future of the franchise in a player, the goal should be to give him the best chance possible to succeed. If that means crafting an offense that features lots of shotgun, multi-wide, no-huddle plays that rely on quick decisions, why not do it?

Are the run schemes that different, comparing Murray to Blount?

For what fits Mariota- running outta gun, yes. The mesh point for the hand off as well as the speed of which the Rb hits the hole is entirely different. See: Eagles 2015 with
    Murray.

Our Under center stuff shouldnt be this drastically bad. However, when you have 1 wr lined up inside the numbers and a slew of TEs and Rb/Fbs - there's little chance for concepts to actually be run.

Instead you have possession wr running a comeback iso route and a TE with a curl over the middle. Probably less than 5 yards apart. Rb/fbs to the flats. Maybe one guy entirely running misdirection.... there's just little room for guys to get open. Standard vanilla 1v1 routes. We don't have the personnel to win consistently
