Yea he's no Polamalu, thats for sure. Polamalu could probably hold out for $12M/yr if he wanted to. Dude is more important to his team than most QB's. I wish we had a guy like that.

You don't want anyone to suck at anything, that isn't the point.

Just about anyone outside this fanbase can look at the numbers and say he is a top 10 FS.

Everyone just hates on him here because of how bad is tackling is; and it's what the cool kids are doing. Hell, I'm right there with you. Seeing him get trucked is frustrating.

But my prediction is that he will prove us wrong this year.

He won't prove us wrong this year... and you know why?

Because our dumb@sses just gave him a 5 year/$35M deal with $15M guaranteed instead of seeing what he could give us under the franchise tag. He was going to be motivated under a contract year and his final chance to show us something.

He's going to be as unmotivated as ever.

Griffin gets run over by Foster,Turner,MJD(guys who run over everybody)and fans here get mad.

But when Mariani gets POP by a kicker they make excuses.

    Flip floppers.

We raise the ticket prices but pocket the money this is what makes some of us not very happy. Again lets re-do McCourty Cook and maybe Britt now with the cap space and we wont have them free agents next year. I have seen it posted both ways but I do not think cap money carries over year to year. We have nearly 20 million in space and eugene amano is still our center that is embarrassment

Not sure we want to extend Britt until we see how he comes back from the ACL and if he can keep from injuring another body part. But your comment is valid. Instead of sitting on that 20 mil which won't carry over they should use some of it up by extending JMac and Cook. They can write off most of the upfront money this year if they structure the contracts appropriately. Then the CAP hit going forward will be minimal. Just give them a chunk in guaranteed base salary this year.

The question would be what is a good contract for either of these guys.
McCourty is actually due to make 1.26 mil this year. So that is already part of the CAP. So if we added a base of 7 mil to that (8.26) add another 2 mil in bonus money we would be taking about 1/3 of the total contract hit this year. You also only have 2 mil in bonus tied up. Is McCourty worth 6 mil a year? Maybe so. That is only 60% of what Finnigan got.

    Please.

    He isn't Albert Haynesworth.

Worth ethic has never been his problem, and the fact that everyone is doubting him will be just as much motivation as the money.

When Brees gets his deal, you think he will start playing worse? Did Eli? Revis?

I'm not saying he will be more motivated this year, I'm just assuming he will return to pro bowl form and show us what he's got.

Also, the idea of locking players up before they breakout is an overrated idea.

As we have seen numerous times, and even first hand, players will hold out if they aren't being paid what they deserve.

Whoa whoa whoa. You're spreading false info here.

He is probably the most talented player on the team, but he does not give full effort at practice or on the field.

Work ethic is 100% his biggest problem.
