Titans hope to remove Britt from PUP this week

    If all goes well, the Titans will take wide receiver Kenny Britt off the Physically Unable to Perform list later this week and he’ll be ready to play 12-15 snaps in the season opener against the Patriots on Sept. 9.

    That’s according to coach Mike Munchak. The Titans will have to make a decision by Friday, when NFL rosters must be trimmed to 53 players. “We think he does have that possibility,” Munchak said. “This week we are pushing him hard and doing a lot of different things to see how he responds …”

    Britt, of course, might not be available even if he’s up for it health-wise. He’s still waiting to find out if NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is going to suspend him after an eighth run-in with the law since joining the Titans in 2009.

    Working on a side field Sunday, Britt looked good as he ran routes and caught passes. He has been recovering from surgeries on both knees. He won’t play in Thursday’s preseason finale against the Saints.

    “I feel way closer than last week, and pretty close to myself,” Britt said. “Both knees feel good. I’m not 100 percent yet, but I am getting there. I am still hoping Week 1 I’ll be back.”

    That's the exact way it'll go down. Goodell is a troll, waiting for Britt to get healthy before he gives his decision.

    Apparenty becaue this is Britt's fist episode with DUI he might not ge suspended at all. It falls into a different category than bad behavior and the CBA is specific on the penalty for a first time DUI which is a 2 week fine but no suspension.

    Yes but I think we'll get lucky and it will only be 2 games, as a final warning, one more run in and Goodell drops the hammer.

    That is what I have heard as well, but somehow Goddell is going to suspend him for just being a plain dumb ass. Who tries to drive onto a military base when they are shnockered
