That doesn't matter - the Titans collect the money for ticket sales up front, and that revenue won't change whether the buyers attend the games or not.

Jerseys are licensed merchandise of NFL Properties and the league evenly splits the revenue per team. If Peyton came to Tennessee, the profits from every Peyton Manning jersey sold would benefit the Seahawks, 49ers, Patriots, Chargers, Cowboys, etc., just as much as it would benefit the Titans.

'no reason not to pursue him' ??

We already have a vet and our future QB. Manning won't be looking for a one year deal. He's at least going to sign a two year deal and most likely will sign a three year. This is the last year we have Hass under contract and Locker may even start over him. If we sign Manning to a two year deal that will put our future and franchise QB back another two years when he could possibly start this year.

Manning's career is over..well the prime portion of it is....he is only trying to prolong retirement because he loves the sport.

To all those who criticized my argument that Manning sat out an entire NFL season...I guess I forgot to mention that it is very uncommon for people, let alone QB's, to come back from that type of injury and perform at a high level. Just saying.

Its a very justified argument, I would just hope that IF we went after him, we put him through some good tests first. Again, I doubt we sign him, but I think it would be foolish not to atleast look at him.

    1999 - 0-1; 0 TDs 0 ints (loss to TITANS!!!)
    2000 - 0-1; 1 TD 0 ints
    2002 - 0-1; 0TDs 2 ints (0-41 loss to NYJ in 1st round)
    2003 - 2-1; 9TDs 4ints (5TDs came in the 1st round against DEN, finished w 4tds 4 ints)
    2004 - 1-1; 4TDs 2 ints (all 4 TDs came against DEN, lost to NE 3-20)
    2005 - 0-1; 1 TD 0 ints
2006 - 4-0; Superbowl win vs Bears (3TDs 7ints, QB rating of 70 through POs)
    2007 - 0-1; 3TDs 2ints
    2008 - 0-1; 1TD 0ints
    2009 - 2-1; 6TD 2ints (superbowl loss to Saints)
    2010 - 0-1; 1Td 0ints

Mannings overall record in the PO is 9-10 with 26 tds and 19 ints. He was one and done 7 of 11 times. His one SB win came over a crappy Bears team with ZERO offense, and that was the colts defense took them to the SB that year.

Manning was a great regular season QB, but getting him on your team is by no means punching your SB ticket like some people seem to think. And that was before he got injuried and missed a season. Anyone that thinks Manning will be 100% this year, or ever is kidding themselves.

So I guess the Colts defense brought them back from down 21-3 in the AFC Championship game against the Pats? Thought so. Give credit where credit is due.

A team that went 9-7 last year, you bring in Manning (if healthy) and yes we probably are super bowl contenders IMO. Cutting Hasselbeck, sign Wayne and Saturday and we're a damn good team. The offense would be prolific with Manning, CJ, Britt, Wayne, Washington & Williams. Move Amano back to Guard and put Saturday at C, our OL issues are likely fixed also and CJ is in beast mode once again.

As for the defense, guys like Ayers, Mccarthy, Klug & Casey shall keep improving. Our defense looked bad at times (esp. vs the run) but the overall numbers were actually pretty decent. Since their young, it should improve (even with losing Finny and potentially Jones). Draft DE in the first round and DT in the second. The DT class is DEEP, a good one shall fall to us in the 2nd. If we hit with our first two picks, the defense would be "good enough" under this scenario (Adding Manning, Wayne & Saturday).

Let me just say, that would be the moves made but I don't want this to happen and don't think it will anyways. I like having Hasselbeck and Locker. I rather spend the money elsewhere this offseason; it's fun to entertain such thoughts though.

Bud would have to push HARD for this to happen.. Franchise Notoriety, a super bowl push at his age and revenue.

Doesn't manning have to go through waivers 1st anyway? Couldn't teams just put their claims in and not have a bidding war?
