Titans Leaning on Young's Improvement

    SUMMARY: Though Vince Young is far from a finished product, the Titans expect more this season from the second-year QB. “I’ve seen a lot more than glimpses of it through the preseason,” Titans coach Jeff Fisher said of Young’s improvement. “We’ve seen improvement throughout the offseason. As we’ve said all along, we expect that to translate into wins this year.” Young has the total support of his teammates “He’s going to get it done, regardless of what people say or regardless of what’s happening out there on the field,” RB LenDale White said. “When you’ve got a quarterback that can just go out there and leave it all out there, we’re going to fall right in behind him and march with him.”

    Some basic realistic goals for vince and the passing offense..

    3000 yards passing..

    55%+ comp rate(51.5)

    20tds(+8)

    14 ints(+1)

    7 yards per attempt..


    If vince does those things his passing rating will be at 79. To throw for 3000 means an improvement of 26 yards per game from 161 to 187.

    I've thought somewhere along those lines as well. I'm guessing about 8 running TDs and 500 yards rushing on top of that... While I could see him exceeding those numbers if other things fall into place (our running game and our receivers), I don't think he'll likely far short of them. I think 14 INTs might be on the high side of what he throws. If he gets help he could hit 60% comp. with a few hundred more yards, and hopefully closer to 10- INTs. Can't wait to see his response to the Jags today.
