NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said Monday on NFL Network's "Path to the Draft" that the Titans are willing to play the role of the St. Louis Rams of 2012. The Rams traded down from the No. 2 spot in a blockbuster deal with the Washington Redskins that year, as Washington moved up to take Robert Griffin III.

"This is a spot that could be a potential trade, especially if somebody wants to come up for Marcus Mariota," Rapoport said. "Are the Titans interested? Talking to people familiar with their thinking, it would take a lot -- a real lot -- to move up to No. 2 and convince the Titans that it is worth giving up some potential franchise players.

The players Rams got for the number two pick: Michael Brockers (1st round pick, 2012), Janoris Jenkins (2nd round pick, 2012), Alec Ogletree (1st round pick, 2013), Stedman Bailey (3rd round pick, 2013), Zack Stacy (5th round pick, 2013), and Greg Robinson (1st round pick, 2014).

Not surprised, just not sure that the same incentive for other teams is there this draft. Hope I am wrong though, because trading down and getting a bunch of picks is my preference...has been for a long time now.

What would we do without the amazing investigative reporting of Rapaport?

I'm so ready for the draft to be here.

Not sold on any of the guys projected to us. Would love to get a Rams type of trade.

Of course we are. Which is why I've been saying all along a trade won't happen. The bar was set too high with that STL/WAS deal. We'd look stupid to give up the pick for much less than that. And and on the flip side no one is giving up nearly that much for Marcus Mariota.

    We're picking at 2.

There is simply to much traction for something to happen at #2. I'm more convinced we trade it. I'm not going to be upset if we don't.

List of teams linked to wanting or are very interested in him:
    Browns
    Eagles
    Jets
    Chargers
    Rams
    Washington

If it were just 1 or 2 teams I'd have a hard time thinking trade.

Only the Browns, Jets and Redskins are realistic trade partners. All others would have to send their entire draft picks plus half of next years to make this favorable for us.

Browns - This could work since they have two 1st rounders
Eagles - Possibly if FO likes Bradford & additional picks
Jets - It's the jets, I wouldn't doubt them one bit if they move up
Chargers - Possibly if FO takes the Rivers bait
Rams - they would have to hand us a dump load of picks
Washington - hard to believe since they have RG3.
