Titans plan to sign FB Quinn Johnson

    The Titans plan to sign fullback Quinn Johnson on Tuesday to fill a need in the backfield.

    Johnson joined the Titans in 2011 and also played all 16 games for the team in 2012. He was injured prior to the start of the season, however, and the team promoted fullback Collin Mooney from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. The Titans later reached an injury settlement with Johnson.

    Mooney suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s 22-14 loss to the Colts, and is likely headed to Injured Reserve.

    Johnson was a fifth round pick by the Packers in the 2009 NFL Draft and was traded to the Titans in 2011. He spent part of the 2011 season with the Broncos after being waived by Tennessee, where he eventually re-signed.
