SUMMARY: The Titans are ready to unveil a new offense Saturday in the preseason opener against the Rams. For Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger, playing technically sound is key. "I’d like to see them come out and execute," Heimerdinger said. "When we throw the ball, I’d like to see people get in the right spots and protect Vince so he can make the right decision and read the coverage. Obviously, we are gonna run the ball, and I’d like to see us get our hats on the right people. We’re not gonna put in an extensive game plan, but just base things so they can go out and play and see where we’re at." In addition, many are excited to see the debut of first-round pick Chris Johnson. "In practice, I’ve been doing real good, and I’m eager to see how it translates into [a game]. I’m confident right now and ready to go," Johnson said.

I don't expect to see much in preseason.

As Heimerdinger said, they're mainly looking for execution. They won't be doing anything fancy or overly complex....just a fairly straightforward offense, to see how well guys execute their assignments. They have to get the basic offense working before they start throwing a bunch of bells and whistles into the mix.

Truth be told, I don't think we'll see the real scheme until the season opener against the Jags. Fisher and Dinger don't want to tip their hand and give the Jags something to watch for.

We'll start seeing more movement, more formations, and more mismatches once the season starts. During preseason, I'm guessing they just go straight up head-to-head, and find out how many of these guys came to play.

I may be crazy but I have a feeling the first play on O Vince throws deep.

no way, the first play will be a two yard run by fat ***. if he doesn't play it will be a -20 yard run by chris henry.

First play, Vince throws the ball to himself and runs for a TD

We've tried Young going deep early before and it usually ends up a pick and momentum surges for the opposing team. I'd rather not try that type of 'cute' stuff this year.
