Titans should come away with elite defender at #5

I think Myles Garrett is probably the most talented of the 5 listed but would he come in and start over Morgan and Orakpo (our second and third best defenders behind Casey). You can never have too many pass rushers, but it just seems likea luxury pick that bumps one of our best players off the field vs an area where we really need help like WR, CB, ILB

 

They did look to target Mike Williams. With ten seconds left, they threw a fade to him double covered. He beat the CB and safety so the CB just took him out with a DPI.

Talk about a massive upgrade at defense!

 

Even if you believe an 'elite' defender prospect at #5, it's hard for me to not trade down... if the right trade comes along. If QB Prospect X falls to #5, any trams willing to trade in front of the Jets at 6? 10-13 arguably all need QBs: Bills, Saints, Browns, & Cardinals, NO & AZ because of the age of their starting QB.

Regardless of the trade, if we move down just a little we could grab Hooker, Adams, Mike Williams, or Foster still. Move down, grab one of those guys & atleast add a 2nd. That 2nd could find a prime CB prospect if #18 doesn't.

 

With JR at the helm, I'll actually be pretty surprised if we pick at #5. Trading back a few could net at least a replacement 2nd, and still get a very good prospect. IMO, this team absolutely needs a #1 CB, a S, a WR and an ILB. 2 1st's, a 2nd and 2 3rd's really make it possible to transform this team with JR making the picks. Plus what he does in FA.

For the first time, we're going into FA/draft and I'm excited and confident that the decision made will greatly improve this team. There's also the trade scenario with teams looking to unload expensive players, ala Murray.

 

We're finally back to a place where we can really be excited over the early picks, that player could be all the difference in a winning season or another 8-8 type of thing
