    That's just dumb!

This guy has been in the league for 4 years!

He has 156 punt returns and 58 kick returns in his career and probably is a top 10 punt return man in this league. 214 times he has returned a punt or a kick in this league so what does he need to audition for?

He is a 28 year old player with a solid track record and he rarely fumbles.

Starkiller didn't do his homework and made the mistake of reading a few posts here. The guy IS one dimensional it is not a matter of decision he was signed to return punts and kicks and no other reason. He replaces carr that's why we signed him. What more do we need to know?

You know how it is Roll, some people here just believe that there was more value out there for a player that could, believe it or not, do something besides catch a punt or kickoff, like also play DB. That was the thing about Carr last year, not only could he be our returner but he provided depth at DB. This guy Jones, is gonna be our returner, but he isn't going to provide us any depth. Justin Miller would've been able to be our returner AND also help out in a special needs area such as DB which we are mighty thin right at this point. The whole "two birds with one stone" theory.

But, how was Fishing?? Catch any snapper? Didn't go to the mullet-toss did ya:)

    Mark Jones rankings 2008..

3rd in total returns punt and kick(carr was ranked 9th)

    9th in total return yardage

    2nd in total punt returns

    8th in punt return yardage

8th in PR yards per return

Among all active players jones is 10th in total punt returns.

Yeah that's the kind of guy you sign to a multi year deal and cut.

Carr just lacked that next gear to go all the way for the touchdown.

I guess it all comes down to money. Carr signed a $2.5M a year deal with the ravens. Maybe this guy is only making $1.75M or something.

He fits what they want out of a return guy. Gets consistent yardage and doesn't drop the ball. I can't believe he is that inferior as a WR to some of the guys we have now. P williams and chris davis combined for 3 catches last year and jones had 2 catches for the panthers.

FYI, we don't fish down there we just go to billy's in Bon Secour for shrimp and oysters.

They just opened a Cajun Steamer restaurant in Franklin so now we finally have some decent RBnR and delicious crawdads.. Been there too many times lately!

  9. Average yards per return is all that matters. He finished 7th in punt average, which is fine. But he was just 22nd on kickoffs. And no TDs.

Nothin' better than a table full of steamed crawfish, red potatoes, and corn-on-the-cob. Mmm, mmm. Except, maybe, a bowl full of crawfish etouffee.
