Titans to Play in Hall of Fame Game

Hopefully this doesn't take away from the other Nationally televised games that we'll (hopefully) get this year.

With our luck it will.

 

<em>Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky</em> <p>Two years ago, when <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=173">Bruce Matthews</a> was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, many of us thought the Titans would have been an obvious choice for the game connected to the induction weekend that kicks off the preseason.</p> <p>Instead we got the New Orleans Saints against the PittsburghSteelers.</p> <p>The Titans get a turn this year, as it was announced Saturday. The Hall of Fame game will be Tennessee against Buffalo in the kickoff of a season of celebration of the 50th season for the league's AFL teams.</p> <p>The Bills and Titans will wear their original uniforms. The Titans will wear their Oilers uniforms of the early 1960s that were distinguished by the white oil derrick logo on light blue helmets. Buffalo will wear its throwback uniforms that feature a simple red buffalo on a white helmet.</p> <p>That will be cool for fans of the Houston Oilers, but probably weird for those who only adopted the team after a move to Tennessee even if they can appreciate the history of it.</p> <p>The game is on Aug. 9 and will be nationally televised by NBC. It's the first time since 1970 that it won't pit an NFC team against an AFC one.</p> <p>It will mark the first five-game preseason for the Titans franchise since 1994, when as the Houston Oilers it played Dallas in Mexico City as an extra preseason</p>

Hmmm...I guess that's nice and all but really the HOF game is just a bonafide preseason game. CJ prolly won't see the second quarter

 

Cool VY and Simms will get plenty of time to fight for 2nd. should be fun to see who gets it.

 

You'll get to see our new WR. That's what will be important here. He'll be our #1 and will need the reps.
