Titans coach Mike Munchak says he’s uncertain as to the extent of middle linebacker Colin McCarthy’s ankle injury.

McCarthy suffered the injury in the second quarter against New England and tried to play in the second half, but was unable to do so. He was scheduled to get an MRI on the ankle Monday afternoon.

“I think they’re figuring out because of the swelling exactly what he does have and how sore it is,” Munchak said. “That’s another thing we’ll probably have to wait a day or so. We’ll probably know much more about him tomorrow or Wednesday morning, to an extent how sore he is and how quickly he can get back.”

Munchak was more optimistic about a few other injuries:

    • Regarding wide receiver Nate Washington, Munchak said he thinks he’ll be able to play despite bruising his leg on Sunday. Munchak said Washington has not displayed any concussion symptoms from the big hit he took over the middle.
    • Munchak said defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks, who missed Sunday’s game with a knee injury, is scheduled to return for Sunday’s game in San Diego.
    • Munchak said running back Javon Ringer was in the hospital on Monday afternoon dealing with an elbow infection that sidelined him on Sunday. He was expected to remain in the hospital overnight.
Ringer had soreness in the elbow last week and Muchak said it “ballooned up a little” on Saturday, leading Ringer to go to the hospital for the first time. He’s been in and out of the hospital since then.

“He is still taking anti-biotics and we’ll know more on him tomorrow,” Munchak said. “We think he’ll be fine. It’s just a matter of how that elbow is and how quickly they can get that swelling out of it.”

I expect to see him on the injury list as questionable today. By his tweet this morning, he seems unsure right now if he'll be able to go.

Diles seemed pretty solid last week. He's obviously no McCarthy but he's not suspect by any means. Or at least wasn't last week.

I'd almost prefer McCarthy to sit this game if he's not 100%. Let him come back healthy for the Lions next week.

McCarthy came back in that game and played... I can't imagine him missing Week 2

We can't afford not to have him. Witherspoon is alright at MLB, but he's no McCarthy. When McCarthy's out you can't feel good.

He barely played. Barely. One series probably.

Accord to a Wyatt tweet, Munch doesn't know if he can go Sunday.
