We're about as talented at the skill positions as you will find anywhere in the league. Can you imagine Kendall Wright in New England? How about CJ in Detroit? Hunter in Denver?

It's not about talent - it's coaching and the QB position (and the trenches to a lesser extent). Both of which we can address this offseason if Mr. Smith and the GM aren't complete idiots.

Yeah. I just think the Texans still match up well with us. They still have Watt to wreak havoc on our pathetic OL. That happens and we're gonna see anywhere between 2 and 8 turnovers from FitzMAGIC. And we know we can pretty much count on our run game being completely worthless.

I completely agree that this is a results driven league. If the results are not there, nothing else matters.

We have had the talent discussion before so we both know where each other stand. If I thought a new coach would make people catch better, block better, ect, id be all for it. I am just on the fence trying to blame this season on Munch after the product I have seen on the field.

Not that it cant be a direct result of bad coaching, its just the opinion I have formed, right or wrong. We wont know that until next season.

I can't disagree with much of what you're saying. But to me the whole problem is accountability. It seems to be a concept Mike Munchak simply does not grasp too well. Not with his staff. And certainly not with his players. Isn't it at least possible that less dumb mistakes would be made if players legitimately felt that their jobs were on the line? I'm not advocating benching players for a single mistake or bad game. But Munch gives his players waaaaaaaaaaay too much slack IMO. Britt and Reynaud are perfect examples of this. And in the case of Reynaud it DID cost us games, or at least opportunities to win games.

So who is that on, really? Reynaud? Or Munch? I put it on Munch. Reynaud can't really help the fact that he sucks too much. But Munch has the power and responsibility to tell players who are costing the team to take a seat. There are a lot of ways that Munch differs from Fisher. But I definitely see some of that Fisher stubbornness in him.

Then who after Wright? Thats one skilled WR, that may best be suited as a slot receiver.

CJ, in many places, would look a LOT better. Because their lines are better. Is that because of bac coaching, or because of our players being pushed around? When we have blocking, CJ runs well. If we dont, he doesnt. I have not given up on our line but itll be very hard to convince me that what I am seeing on the field (players being manhandled and pushed around) has to do with coaching.

Hunter has potential, but everyone has seen the drops, as well as the great catches. We have no clue what we have yet but hopefully he becomes that good #1 we have needed for some time.

A lot of it depends on what you consider skill positions.

    Skill positions

    QB - No
RB - No (whether its due to the line, or the RB)
WR - One, out of 3-4. Washington is also a good WR so Im not trying ot ignore him or put him aside. We need to see more of hunter
    Cornerback - Yes
Safety - average. MG is good at what he does, Pollard is good at hitting hard and running his mouth.
    Return Specialist - no

    Less Commonly

    LB - Yes
    DE - No

It really depends on what you consider skill positions.

Britt has played much less than most people think. I wish someone would keep a snap count site up for every game. When I googled Britts snap count, its much less than most people, including myself, imagined.

The accountability part, he benched Britt, Turner, and let go of Reynaud. When Green was healthy, he started using him like he said he would, if Cj was effective, he wouldnt have done that.

My biggest gripe is Reynaud, which I pretty much agree with everyone that he did take too long. Other than that, I thought that Munch has done well holding players accountable for sucking. He cant bench Warmack, or CJ (with an injured Green),

Another gripe with Munch is who he hired for coaches. I will not say much about Grey, because he has improved dramatically, and I actually am still a fan of Loggains. Position coaches are another story. theres a few "wtf" people on this staff. IF he stays, I expect changes in that department.

I have no issue putting the Reynaud situation on Much's shoulders, because he took way too long to get rid of him.

Kendall would break the single season receptions mark on a New England or Denver. I also think Hunter would have had an AJ Green type rookie year on a competent team.

That goes back to my point: QB and coaching. Why has Hunter been brought along so slowly? He's a smart kid. Why is Kendall STILL under utilized? Why does CJ look lost? (don't answer that)...

And just like you said (and I agree), need a QB.

Hunter simply was not ready. Is he now? Who knows but I sure as hell hope so. He could be an amazing player, one we have needed and wanted for a long time. He had way too many drops. When reading up on him, he also had a lot of drops in TN (college) as well. (dropped 12 percent of his targets or something like that)

Wright, you are right and answering why he is under utilized... crappy QB play.

Id answer the CJ one but you are right, no need to. That discussion has been beaten to death.

Sounds like he is just saying what we want to hear. Remember what Munch said when he first started as HC. Empty or late promises.

    I'm cautiously optimistic.

No it won't. It will get us a worse draft pick, and save the job of one of the worst coaches in the NFL.
